Listen to my words.
The heart of a woman is beautiful,
But freer than a bird."

The Dove's First Words

“My friend, the King, Has seen your tears
Now shed upon the ground.
He sent me now so you may hear
How your heart shall be found

Yes my son, you have destroyed
That which was given you,
And you deserve what you have found
Upon this field of doom

But the King has mercy in His heart
And has a plan for you.
Though it will take all that you are
And only you can choose

He sent me now to lead you on
The greatest of His journeys.
Hoping that when you are done,
You will find your greatest yearning”

The Arrival

From the grey of clouds
A beam of light
Broke through the mist
And touched my eyes

For but a moment
A brief relief
The winds of change
Washed over me

And there descended
As clouds closed again
A graceful dove
Into my hands

His feathers white
Like purest snow
Into my eyes
His gaze drove

Chapter one - The Cry

Sullen and Sordid I did kneel
Upon a broken, battered field
Where I had waged a war – now lost
My fractured heart its greatest cost

My hands were clenched on blackened ashes
My only memory of what had happened
For these were once a living heart
Until my clench tore it apart

A broken rose lay by my side
The last token of a beautiful lie
And as I looked out to the darkened sky
The black clouds billowed before my eyes

And there I wept, a broken man
Lost in a sea of hopeless land
Unable to bear my past mistakes
Afraid of a worthless future state

And so I cried out, my hands lifted high
“What is the point of this broken life?”
Can a man be given a second chance?
Have I lost that which is best?”

Tears streamed from my sullen face
“Have I lost my chance for grace?
I broke a love, I broke a trust
Let the King do what He must”

The Epic

Come Round my friends
And listen well
For in everyones heart
Lies this tale

A tale of war
A tale of pain
A tale of loss
And worlds ablaze

But birth of something
Bright and new
Forged from fires
Of wasted youth

And given name
Beneath the stars
And carried through
Till death did part

A tale removed
From our worlds shores
In lands of grey
And misty lore

Be not strayed
Or removed from it
For we are all joined
By the events I call
The Epic

(Not sure if I like this one, but its a start)

Beginning Thoughts

"Listen close my dear friend
Listen to my words.
The heart of a woman is beautiful,
But freer than a bird."

(From a poem I hope to put in later, but a good beginning statement)

So What Is This?

With this blog I am attempting to create a story. I'm still not very sure where this will go, but I hope to blend many poems, and perhaps some short stories, to create a tale of the heart and love. I suppose you could say it begins by following the story of my heart, but I am also interjecting many ideas into it as well. I will be trying to make this as good as possible, so I may be changing things around if I come up with better ideas, but I hope it is enjoyable!
